Your marketing dilemmas require someone who understands the healthcare system, knows how to write different types of content, and arrives with a high level of professionalism, problem-solving, and passion.
Here’s my story about how I got to be all that, what drives me to do what I do, and why I love birds (yes, birds).
A writer
For me, writing is about listening, learning, and patience.
Like a birder looking for a rare species (more on that below), a writer must know their audience and develop empathy for their subject.
That’s what I love to do and what I’m best at. Granted, it took me a few years to realize that…
A passionate healthcare professional
I spent the first half of my professional life working in health care and public health focused on improving healthcare processes, patient care, and health outcomes.
Somewhere along the way, I realized that the writing that I was doing for my job was my passion and strength all along. So, I set out to hone my writing skills and become a certified copywriter through the American Writers & Artists Institute.
I’m thrilled to be spending the second half of my professional life writing – still with the goal of improving health – but doing it as a partner with clients in the healthcare space.
A quiet voice of reason
Many say that I’m compassionate, knowledgeable, and dedicated.
I’m able to cut through the noise to condense and clarify disparate ideas into something useful, meaningful, and new. Indeed, I love looking at things from different perspectives.
Inga’s work was succinct and just what we needed. The way she grouped our programs was one we had not thought of before, and we think it is a really good explanation of what we do.

A birder
Birding, like writing, is a methodical and meditative pursuit. I love to spend hours in the shrubbery looking for a flicker of movement, listening for a familiar song. I love searching a flock for an outlier or scanning the reedy vegetation for a lurker.
I love the feeling of hopeful expectation that at any moment, something spectacular might come into view… like this ridiculously adorable fella.
And more
For now, I live in Oswego, NY where lake effect snow can bury a car in a few hours. Most people complain, but I love the snow and the cold, crisp air that freezes the inside of my nose.
When I’m not writing or birding, you’ll find me on my road bike or a long walk. Or volunteering with my local Zonta club, working to increase the status of women in my community and worldwide. My work in Zonta earned me a spot on the 2019 Central New York Women Who Make a Difference.
Finally, if you ask my very supportive husband and 3 kids what really blows my skirt up, they’ll say cooking “restaurant quality” creations and, of course, eating them with a nice glass of pinot grigio. Cheers!
