My process is based on two things:
Making you the hero of your story with content that demonstrates your expertise, thought leadership, empathy, and care.
Making our work together as easy as possible for you – you’re busy and don’t need to be holding anyone’s hand. I will ask a lot of questions to understand you and your project, but I won’t waste your time. I understand your work and your audience. How? I’ve been there. And I bring that experience to every project.
Below is what you can expect when you work with me. Of course, each client and each project are different so the process may change based on your needs and the size and scope of the project. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask!
Discovery Call
To get things started, we’ll schedule a 20-minute discovery call to discuss your healthcare marketing goals and copywriting needs. This gives me enough information to understand the project so I can write up a proposal. During the call, we’ll talk about what you do, who you do it for, and what makes you special. We’ll discuss your project, competitors, target audience, and overall marketing strategy. We’ll also identify your internal stakeholders, timeframe, and budget.
Proposal
Within 2 business days, I’ll send you a detailed proposal/contract about the services I will provide, timeframe, cost, and terms of our relationship. I usually request half of the fee upfront to get started. Once the signed contract and payment are received, we’ll schedule a kick-off meeting, ideally within one week.
Kick-off Meeting
The kick-off meeting should include all internal stakeholders. We’ll review the project in greater detail including the goals, plan, timeline, past marketing efforts, buyer persona, roles, responsibilities, and next steps. After the meeting, I’ll send a summary of what was discussed and a draft strategy or content outline to make sure we’re on the right track.
Writing
Finally, I’ll write. Using the information gathered from our meetings and my own research, I’ll create compelling and engaging copy that speaks directly to your audience and addresses their main concerns.
Drafts, Edits, and a Final Version
On or before the agreed-to deadline, you’ll receive the first draft. I welcome feedback and am open to your thoughts and suggestions. I usually include 2 rounds of edits in my contracts to ensure the end results are exactly what you are looking for.
Ongoing Communication
I like to send weekly e-mails to keep my clients up to date on my progress. Throughout the project, it’s my goal to communicate clearly and openly and you should expect only the highest level of responsiveness.
